Michael Yarbrough
Hello. My name is Michael Yarbrough. I’ve come to Anqing directly from Singapore, where I taught K-1-P6 children reading and writing for four-and-a-half years. Before that, I taught English conversation, reading and composition mostly to university students, but in the summer and winter months also to children in the Republic of Korea for ten years. Between April, 1987 and March, 1993, I taught people of all ages conversation and composition in Japan. I have a special love and sympathy for young people just starting out their lives. I also history and welcome the challenge to my empathetic imagination that a foreign culture represents. I’ve not been here at Anqing Foreign Language Center for very long, but I’m already impressed with the kindness, friendliness and the sincere support I’ve received from the staff and from students. I also like the peace and quiet afforded by the surrounding countryside. I’m looking forward to a long stay. Thank you.
